THE DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO 15 JULY - HURRY THOUGH, AS PLACES FOR THIS EVENT ARE RESTRICTED!
Please note the change to the earlier advertised judging time of 17:00 to 16:00 - this is to ensure that we have enough time to judge and clean up the beach before the tide comes in!
Design Circle, together with the Bristol Society of Architects, RIBA South West and RSAW are pleased to invite you to come and take part in their Sandcastle Competition to be held on Saturday 24 July 2010 at Barry Island's blue flag beach.
The competition kicks off at 13.00 and judging takes place at 16.00 by a mixed panel of judges, with prizes being awarded shortly afterwards in the following categories:
Teams should consist of up to six members and children (under the supervision of their parents) are more than welcome to take part. Teams should provide their own equipment; bucket and spades, or any other tools that are to be used (note, motorised diggers are not allowed). Framework is allowed, however all supporting structures must be removed for judging and teams may decorate their structure with flotsam and jetsam found on the beach. The judges’ decision will be final.
