Formed in the summer of 2007, Design Circle is the Southern Branch of the Royal Society of Architects in Wales. We are an organisation run for and by architects to provide a professional and social platform for it's members, as well as those of the wider construction design professions.
Representing 600 of approximately 830 registered architects (from ARB 2008/09 annual report) in Wales, we have also started taking a role as formal consultee for a range of architecture and construction related Welsh Assembly, Local Authority and Professional policy measures.
Wales as a whole has in the past been given a reputation of being somewhat of an architectural backwater. Since the establishment of Design Circle, we have aimed to raise the profile of Architecture in Wales, organising the Roath Basin Design Charrette, the Reflecting Wales 2008 exhibition, and the Design Circle Ball 2008 in our first year. In doing so, we have quickly become the most active and enthusiastic branches of RSAW, and the RIBA as a whole.
Make sure you check our website regularly if you'd like to find out about some of the things we're planning for our second year!

Meetings have been moved from our previous second Thursday of the month to the second Tuesday of each month, in order not to clash with the SAWSA lecture series, when these start up again in the next academic year.
As of the last AGM, held 11 June 2009, the committee has changed. An updated list of members will be published shortly.
