The houses at Clyne are part of the comprehensive redevelopment of Clyne Castle and its grounds. The concept behind this small estate relies upon establishing a renewed visual dialogue between the Castle and its grounds, premised on the basis of creating a clear sense of space between them.
The houses are a ‘family’ of buildings that promote a rigorous sense of hierarchy, proportion and order. In themselves, they are each an architectural composition that expresses the articulation of vertical and horizontal elements, the manipulation of the spatial experience, and the essential harmony between solid and void.
