This theoretical research has developed from an interest in our personal experience of the city.
It challenges our perception of the built environment by looking beyond the large scale planning initiatives and inner-city developments that dominate the subject of urban debates and focussing on the micro-scale of urban life within our communities. The street is home to a diverse range of accidental encounters and discoveries that inform our understanding and appreciation of space. It is often recognised for its compelling cast of ever-changing characters, improvised game playing and whimsical tales of half-forgotten events, all of which value the subjective experience of the everyday resident.
