A Temporary Urbanism for Wales explores the idea that an experimental temporary use of ‘left over’ and forgotten sites in the Rhondda could encourage and promote debate on the areas future regeneration.
The strip of train line between Pontypridd and Treherbert has numerous inactive and derelict spaces that have been created as a result of its historical development and the intertwining relationship between its natural and man-made infrastructure.
To create interest in these spaces, the concept proposes a network of temporary interventions that would provide a variety of structures for cultural and commercial uses that could be rebuilt, reshaped and recycled.
