This is a proposal for an eco-development which will double the size of the remote village of Lawrenny in West Wales. The village has recognised that this enlargement is vital for the continued survival of the life of their community: they want the new development to be an examplar of sustainable construction.
There are thirty new houses with a mix of tenures: for sale, to rent and shared ownership. The houses are built from locally quarried stone and estate grown timber, and are designed around the idea of home working, with flexible spaces that can be used for living, working and playing. They are heated and powered using biogas from cows and trees.
