About Design Circle
As the newly re-formed South Wales Branch of the Royal Society of Architects in Wales (RSAW), Design Circle is an organisation run for and by architects to provide a professional and social platform for it’s members, as well as those of the wider construction design professions.
Representing some 600 architects in its catchment area, out of a total of 750 or so registered in Wales, Design Circle has ambitions to match.
Its proposed activities range from providing continuing professional development (CPD) events, to providing informal social events. Over time, as the organisation becomes more formally established, it is expected that the range of its activities will increase to include a local public front for the profession as a whole, and a local consultee for construction design related issues.
Architecture in South Wales
Wales as a whole has in the past been given a reputation of being somewhat of an architectural backwater, however, with the set up of Design Circle we hope to give a voice to Architectural professionals in the region, so that hopefully this view can be disproved.
If you are interested in working in South Wales, please visit www.workinarchitecture.com, a website set up as a tool to provide architects seeking to move to the area with a one-stop-shop to finding out all they need.
We are currently compiling a building list, to act as showcase for architecture in the area. Watch this space.

Meetings are currently held on the second thursday of each month, at the offices of Gaunt Francis Architects, Capital Tower, Cardiff. Please check the forthcoming events listings however on our home page, as dates may change to accommodate scheduled SAWSA lectures.
